Sam should have more faith - I was in the middle of putting up his latest effort when he gazumped me with a direct link from the board - very bad form... Anyway you should definitely all check out the video page. Sam's be trying to get this one filmed for ages and has finally hooked up with Joe to get an edit together. I'm not even going to try and say what I like best about it - mainly because I don't know the names for half the things he does but needless to say, this is Joe so its very different and very enjoyable.

So Summer has come and gone - well it never really came at all but never mind - but random things are afoot on in the JLC community - this is the third update this month (well nearly!) and yet again it comes with a video attached!!! Sam is responsible yet again - seriously good effort on his part too - a self filmed park video that certainly showed me how long it is since I went to a park with Sam that he knows and is comfy with. Very nice. By the way please say nice things about Sam's vid here or he'll get bored and stop providing you with things to watch...
Sam and me were at the trails yesterday and with some most excellent help from various others did some serious trails patching Sam also completed the rebuild on the 6th lip - I rode it off to the left but it was too wet to hit properly but riders beware - it's LOTS steeper and longer than before.
On a more personal note cheers to all for showing up at the wedding, hope you had as good a time as I did, sadly its back to school for me tomorrow which is why I'm doing this not getting on witht the mountains of work I should be doing...

So with an injury list as long as the British winter for the first attempt at the JLC ‘Wedding bells’ tour, attempt two was required!
The trusty Peugeot 306 was rammed full of food (mainly Quiche), riders and rides, and sent up the good ol’ M5 to Stratford Skatepark. As I was not there I cannot comment but the photos speak for themselves, love the big wild table out the mini from Sam.
Camping was ruined by a lack of 5 Star camping facilities available around Birmingham so the tour took shape to invade the capital.
Saturday morning started a lot earlier than I think some of us were expecting and we all learnt that riding next to Rinsemound in London bus lanes is not good for personal safety.
The park at Brixton-Stockwell is pretty much a skaters paradise and has very recently been surfaced. With a mellow S bowl, bowl-quarter-hip combo and mini pool area there’s plenty to ride and scope to never pedal (a JLC tradition)! Full Quiche went to Sam for airing the hip across the run in and Hugh for finding some very random lines.
Heed this advice, ‘Wisley Woods’ are larger than it would appear and not everyone knows what dirt jumps are, so be prepared!’. After a long and extensive search mission we moved East towards Leatherhead skate park where the locals were happy to lead us to their two local trail spots.
Jimmy Pratts trails are steep, and I would love to see riders ripping through there, good luck building the 26-28-30ft skim line at the bottom! Excellent work by Richmond sailing through the first few and Tom, for showing us how to complete a 15min trail drying exercise.
We moved up the Hill to the now known ‘Quiche Trails’, where a flowing, hipping 12 pack had been dug. The Fourth saw a lot of T-down-Tom action and so did the tree above the fifth, wish I had the photo.
Thanks to all the guys hard work they’d got a nice setup flowing that allowed everyone to ‘shred the knar!!’ and chill/shelter afterwards in luxury style.
Good old Indian to round things off, great trip boys. Same next year?
Thanks to all the guys at Leatherhead (hope you enjoy the photos), the random Wisley woods XC rider for the wrong directions and the person who took an hour to make my breakfast!
Darren
Hey guys, just a quick note from me; see the Gallery for trip photos courtesy of Hugh and Darren and the Video page for a super quick turnaround video from Sam. Good effort people this is my kind of update - everyone else does all the work and I just throw up links! I'm also gradually uploading the old jlc vid to vimeo so click through from to my page there 2006 is up and more coming shortly, I'll embed them when I've got time but the formatting is a pain. See you all on Saturday and bring your brollys!

Things are finaly moving on the website front - check the video page for the this year's video - old school vids to follow as I slowly upload them to vimeo. Empire of Dirt was realy good - props to Joe for the tickets and Sam for driving. It was good to have everyone at the trails last night - a shame there wasn't a bit more riding but the list of the crippled is extensive at the moment and I did my knee no favours by trying to turndown. Ah well...
